What a Different Day ….
Fri. Apr. 5, 2013… What a difference a day makes. Did a Flyfishing 101 lesson and trip with Caleb and Todd Baker of Mebane, NC and we caught a bunch of fish …like 30 plus and did it in heavy all day sleet and snow showers and 34F. Just plain nasty weather.
Today was just the opposite…guided David Carter and Rodney Carpenter of Greensboro/Summerfield and we had a 40-50 fish day in 62F temps and sunny skies. Finally it felt like spring. Tons of bugs hatching too, and rising fish. About 300pm there was a Hendrickson hatch….tons of them. We caught fish on a variety of stuff. It was great. David is an excellent angler and today was Rodney’s first day fly fishing. He landed 25 fish. That is impressive.
Looks like a string of warm sunny days and all I can say is the dry fly box had better be well stocked. …
Have a great weekend….
