Tues. Oct. 9, 2012…….. Is this October…? In Spruce Pine, NC, this morning and its frosty….literally, there’s some spotty frost and is quite chilly.
Had a good day yesterday guiding Dr. Pat Burney, we braved 38-39F temps and all day rain and had a 30 fish day….which included 2 citations …..one 21" brookie and 23" rainbow . It was chilly and I was quite glad for the new G4 Pro Waders SIMMS sent as well as a Rivershed Fleece sweater and a hooded Gore Windstopper Jacket. The latter makes it possible to mock the Weather Channel…..lol. Quite simply those pieces are not among the best cool/cold weather items I have worn. They absolutely the finest I have ever owned and allow me to be toasty in nearly any conditions.
Headed out this morning to guide Larry White, Raleigh, NC, on the Catawba R. We will likely be fishing bug uglies and doing some chuck’n’duck with streamers. Then we will head over to the South Holston to catch falling water and hopefully a sulphur hatch. TVA is running til’ 1pm so we will have limited time but we will make the best of it.
Have a great morning…..more to come from the river….
