Great End to the Day….
Thurs. June 14, 2012…After lunch, my two clients Dr. Don Lucey and his grandson Luke and I headed to another spot, one last spot before we headed for home. We had salvaged the day with catching some nice smallmouth after originally planning on fishing the sulphur hatch on the Smith.
As it sometimes goes we got a hard earned bonus to put a big exclamation point on our day. I walked Dr. Don down to a deep run where I knew we would have a shot at a nice fish or two….and that is exactly what happened. He landed several more fish and landed the jewel of the day, a 22.5" brown ate our size 22 purple zebra midge and it was game on. Quite a trophy for a day that started with a big change of plans…and ironically at the end of the day we ended up with a larger fish than we would have landed on the Smitty. Go figure…
Headed home , will be guiding Gregg Taylor group from Gettysburg, PA, on the Escatawba Farms private section of Dunlap Creek. Expecting a good day with some large fish….
Have a great evening…!
