Great Day at the Farm….
Tues. June 5, 2012…. What started as a great day with fish eating dries pretty much stayed that way. Guided Susan Singer and Claudia Cannady today at Escatawba Farms. We fished the private water section of Dunlap Creek. We nailed about 20-25 fish to start, all on dries..one dry in particular was a rubberleg stimulator. The fish ate this fly pretty well all day long. After lunch, we got into some great action on terrestrials. Our largest fish came on beetles and inchworms.
In the afternoon we nailed about 20 more making our day a 40-50 fish outing. The three largest fish were a 22.5" rainbow, a 23.5" rainbow, and a brown that just missed being 24" long. We caught all of those three big fish on a peacock colored Jeffs Foam Beetle. It was fantastic. All our fish were 14 inches or more, and we also caught several smallmouth bass as well.
What a great day, guiding two folks tomorrow, the Chowdhury family. Looks like it could be a wet day tomorrow but we’ll take it.
Have a great evening…!
