Where Fly Fishing is a Professional Passion…..

Good Day But A Little Chilly….

Thurs. Apr.12, 2012……What a nice day of fishing even though it was breezy and a bit chilly all day long. Guided Jack and John Keller, Stokesdale, NC, today and we put about 40 or more fish in the net using one of my high water nymph rig setups. I have been tying a grape or purple ice version of my popular dead squirrel fly and fishing a larger one with a small one in size 14 as a dropper. Worked like a charm today. Cold temps overnight had dropped river temps to 43F and it eventually hit the low 50s this afternoon. Tons of bugs coming off. Lots of bwos, caddis, and a March Brown or two.

Just left the river and headed toward Fleetwood to meet up with my clients for the next two days Dr. Hy Muss, of Chapel Hill, NC, and Dr. Ken Math, Greensboro, NC. Looking forward to two good days of fishing to come.

Have a great evening!
