Great Fall Day on the SoHo……
Sat….Oct. 8, 2011…..Great day guiding Jim Rice and Malcolm Finlayson, from RDU / Chapel Hill.. and we spent the morning hours Nymphing with an array of midge patterns and terrestrials and did well landing about 30 fish or so up to 15 inches, including some gorgeous browns. Some nice rainbows as well, and had some great action on nymphs with them too. We took a break for lunch and then covered 2 more spots. We got a light hatch of blue wings size 20/22, sulphurs sz 18. There were also a good many midges and blackflies on the water too, and the fish were eating them as well..as confirmed when Jim and I pumped . We fished til dark, ending with around 40-50 fish. Thanks guys for an outstanding day…….
Meeting my flyfishing class students at 730am for our class ending field trip. Have a great weekend…..:
