Where Fly Fishing is a Professional Passion…..

Tues…..Aug. 9, 2011……..Unbearably hot once again…and that has pushed a lot of the best fishing to early and late. Small streams everywhere are dropping steadily and many are now their typical summer low and clear. I was on a couple places last week and the water was still in decent shape but low to mid60s water temps. The VA and TN tailwaters continue to fish well…..terrestrial and midges on all waters, the sulphur hatch on the Holston on both high and low water, and a good bwo hatch on the Smith.

Will be doing a fly tying seminar with the Triangle TU chapter in Raleigh,NC, and two days on the water with Carey Panel of Greensboro,NC, and Mike and Sam Willard of Winston-Salem,NC. Have a great afternoon……
