Challenging Day…….and What a Weather Change

Sat……Aug. 6, 2011…….What a different weather day, cool but muggy, and cloudy and drizzle. One would think a good day to fish, but they weren’t doing much . Guided Linda and Cabrini Macklem and we caught a few rainbows and native brookies on some hike in water near Floyd, VA. We later spent the rest of our day at the Smith River in Martinsville. We caught a few browns and rainbows and found a lot of rising fish but they were very tough and ultra selective as they can be. A good size 24 bwo (pseudocloeon) hatch is coming off now on much of the river. And that is a Smitty norm this time of year.

Another super early start guiding Rick Allen and Ed Dallape and we are en route to the South Holston. We have a limiting schedule today and we will be on the river til high water ends our day about 330pm.

Have a great day and enjoy your weekend…..more to come
