Good Day, Numbers of Quality Fish….
Fri…Jan. 20, 2012…..Had a blast today guiding Mac Cheek on Escatawba Farm section of Dunlap Creek. We landed between 25 – 30 large rainbows. Caught them all nymphing, catching them on dead squirrel strymphs and a little stone nymph. As there has been all winter there were a good many stoneflies on the water and a good many fish rising. I pumped a couple stomachs and there were stoneflies there….confirming that they we taking stoneflies.
The water was running 172cfs…a little high bit it fishes well like that….and the water temp was in the high 30sF. We didn’t see rain but enjoyed cloudy skies whig made our fishing a ton easier.
Looks like we have a couple days of wet weather coming, maybe some freezing rain for the mtns……yuck.
Have a great weekend….
